Minnesota Twins Not Ready To Name Manager?
By Ed Carroll
The Minnesota Twins appear to favor Paul Molitor as the replacement for former manager Ron Gardenhire, but the team is still doing its “due diligence,” and at least one other candidate remains.

bench coach, and all three have interviewed for multiple managerial positions this offseason.
This leaves three known candidates remaining, including Molitor and Twins Triple-A manager Doug Mientkiewicz as internal options, although it’s not clear how realistic of a chance Mientkiewicz actually has.
The lone remaining external candidate is Boston Red Sox bench coach Torey Lovullo, who has long been considered a future MLB manager, and appears to have a decent shot at the job:
Regardless of the Twins’ decision, don’t expect a formal announcement until Thursday, at the earliest, as MLB forbids teams from announcing news during the World Series, but allows it on off days. One telltale sign that reports of Molitor getting the job could be correct will be if news leaks regarding a second interview for Lovullo, or lack thereof, but don’t expect anything official until Thurday.
