NFL Gauging Market For Los Angeles NFL Franchise
The NFL appears to be “taking the temperature” of the Los Angeles market in the hopes of relocating a team to the area.
According to reports, the league has begun to survey the area in order to quantify just how great the demand is for a team to settle back down there.

The news comes after several rumblings around league offices that the NFL has selected the St. Louis Rams as the likeliest of franchises from a pool of candidates (the others being the Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers) to relocate to the Los Angeles area.
L.A. has not played host to a professional football franchise since the Raiders moved back from the city to Oakland just before the start of the 1995 National Football League season.
The topic was one of the focal points of the NFL’s meetings earlier this month. Giants owner John Mara had this to say on the matter.
“We discussed it a little bit in terms of what sites are going to be in play. But in terms of what team it’s going to be and when it’s going to happen, I don’t know if that’s moved at all. At least we haven’t been told about it.”
Mara then continues. “Do I think we’re going to be in L.A. within the next few years? Yeah, I think somebody’s going to be there.”
Sam Farmer of the LA Times says the the league plans to email around 2,000 virtual questionnaires to gauge the demand among potential customers.
