The people of Kansas City have World Series favor. Their team has a chance to win their first championship in 29 years. In the midst of that excitement, one of the players’ wives for the Royals came through with an awesome gesture.
As passed along by KMBC.com in Kansas City, a server at ‘Rock & Brews’ received World Series tickets from Wade Davis’ wife as a tip. The way he told his co-workers is pretty outstanding:
"“He was pretty blown away, a little bit shocked,” said Rock & Brews employee Justin Olmstead. “He came back into the office and said, ‘do you guys mind if I have the night off?’ And we looked at him, and he showed us the ticket he had in his hand. And we were blown away ourselves that he was able to have that given to him tonight. So we definitely accommodated him and let him have the night off to go celebrate with all the fans at the game tonight.”"
The chance to see the home team in the World Series can be a once-in-a-lifetime thing. Thanks to a generous tip, this fan now gets to go watch the Royals take on the San Francisco Giants in their efforts to win their first World Series since 1985.
