Brian Orakpo held up a ‘Beat Dallas‘ sign in the hospital, where he learned he’ll miss the rest of the 2014 NFL season with a torn pectoral muscle.

No amount of bad news could deter Brian Orakpo from the first and foremost mission of the Washington Redskins: Beat the Dallas Cowboys. Even after he learned that his 2014 season was over, Orakpo held up a sign willing his teammates on as he prepares to recover from a torn pectoral muscle.

Orakpo was put on season-ending injured reserve after learning that he tore his pectoral muscle. Though he had ten sacks last season, Orakpo only had a half sack to his credit in seven appearances in 2014. The Redskins defense has largely suffered and his absence won’t make things any easier for a team set to the visit the division-leading Cowboys.

The Redskins signed Everette Brown to play in Orakpo’s absence. Whether or not that’s the difference in Washington’s upcoming Monday Night Football match with the Dallas Cowboys is yet to be seen. The smart money would say otherwise.

Washington opened as roughly ten point underdogs against the 6-1 Dallas Cowboys, who are on a roll thanks to a dominant offensive line and an underrated defense. In Dallas, the Cowboys are widely expected to romp the Skins, who must turn to Colt McCoy at quarterback.

Don’t tell any of that to Brian Orakpo though. For him, the message is simple and clear. Beat Dallas, then go from there.
