After an impressive 7-1 victory in Game 1, the San Francisco Giants will try to take a 2-0 series lead against the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday night at Kauffman Stadium. Tuesday night marked the first loss of the postseason for the Royals as Madison Bumgarner shined and the Giants won easily.

The Royals know they will have to bounce back. Having spent much of the postseason playing from behind, Kansas City was in an unfamiliar position in Game 1 once they fell behind early. They just did not seem like the seem team once they were forced to come from behind.

For their part, Kansas City seems to believe they are up to the challenge. “We knew this wasn’t going to be easy,” Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer said, via the Kansas City Star. “So we’ll see what we’re made of.”

It certainly doesn’t hurt the Royals’ chances that it will be a pitcher other than Madison Bumgarner on the mound for the Giants.

It will be a veteran vs a youngster in the starting pitching match-up in Game 2. Jake Peavy will start for the Giants, while young Yordano Ventura will be on the mound for the Royals.
