NBA general managers believe the San Antonio Spurs are the overwhelming favorites to win the 2014-15 NBA Championship.

Every year a poll is sent to each general manager in the NBA where they vote on a variety of topics. More often than not the 30 GM’s around the league tend to know what they’re talking about as they routinely predict what will happen during the upcoming season.

Of course they’re not psychic so they don’t always accurately predict everything, but they do get it right for the most part.

That’s good news for the San Antonio Spurs as they were overwhelmingly voted as the favorites to win the 2014-15 NBA Championship.

The reigning champs, who ironically enough have yet to win back-to-back titles (something they’d do this season if they were to win the championship) beat out LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers and the end result wasn’t even close.

Below are the top title contenders according to NBA GM’s:

"1. San Antonio — 46.2%2. Cleveland — 15.4%3. Chicago — 11.5%L.A. Clippers — 11.5%Oklahoma City — 11.5%6. Golden State — 3.8%"

Most probably wouldn’t find much (if any) fault with such a list though it’s probably a little shocking for many to see the Cleveland Cavaliers so low in regards to their percentage. It seems as if general managers believes the Cavaliers will need some time to gel or simply don’t have the ability to get past the well-oiled machine that we refer to as the San Antonio Spurs.

For what it’s worth, the GM’s stated they believed the Miami Heat would win the 2013-14 title with San Antonio Spurs ranking a distant second.

In addition to the Spurs being voted as the favorites to win the NBA title, it seems general managers are a bit torn on who will come out of the Eastern Conference as both the Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers are neck and neck in regards to their chances.
