There’s not much worse than getting completely shook out of your shoes during a basketball game, yet somehow Jared Cunningham of the Los Angeles Clippers figured out a way to make an embarrassing scenario even more emotionally terrifying.
It all took place on national television in the third quarter against the Phoenix Suns when Eric Bledsoe brought the ball up the court.
Bledsoe looked ready to use his teammate for a potential screen, but at the last minute changed his mind. That was bad news for Cunningham who lost his balance.
The positive news? He didn’t fall down. The bad news? His ankles clearly buckled and sent him flying off the court as a shocked Eric Bledsoe sat all alone at the three-point line.
Of course, with Cunningham now completely out of the picture (almost literally), Eric Bledsoe had nothing left to do but to sink the shot to complete the nasty move. But with the pressure on, the Phoenix Suns guard clanked the jumper making it a fail on both ends of the play.
It’s hard to begrudge Bledsoe for whiffing on the shot given you’re not really accustom to being so open, though as an NBA player you really do need to knock that down. As for Jared Cunningham of the Los Angeles Clippers, well, I’m guessing that one won’t be in his career highlight film. It will certainly be on Bledsoe’s, however.
