It seems as if veteran linebacker Erin Henderson may get another chance in the NFL after the former Maryland star all but ruined his opportunity.
A six-year veteran, Erin Henderson previously spent his entire career with the Minnesota Vikings before he was released due to off field troubles. He has now resurfaced looking for another NFL job and the Tennessee Titans were willing to listen as they worked out the linebacker earlier this week.
How the workout went, nobody really knows, though it seems as if the linebacker is obviously attempting a comeback.
A former Butkus Award semifinalist, Henderson went undrafted before signing with the Minnesota Vikings and quickly turned into a very solid linebacker. No, he wasn’t going to be a Pro Bowl player but he was very adequate and did his job. Unfortunately Henderson’s vice off the field was heavy drinking and Minnesota eventually cut ties with the defensive talent after two two DUI arrests.
Things didn’t get any better when reports of Erin Henderson coming to practice hung over emerged and understandably front offices began to shy away from expressing interest in the linebacker.
Supposedly doing better and no longer drinking heavily, Henderson is looking for a second chance in the NFL.
The Tennessee Titans have made some big changes this week, including the benching of quarterback Jake Locker, though it’s not known if they’re going to take a risk on Erin Henderson at this point.
Henderson amassed a very impressive 112 tackles and four sacks in 14 games last season.
