Kansas City Royals Could Start Jarrod Dyson In Game 3
By Ed Carroll
Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost acknowledged the team could use a slightly-different lineup in Game Three of the World Series tonight, as Jarrod Dyson could get the start instead of Nori Aoki.
With the World Series shifting to AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants, Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost said his team is considering a lineup switch for Game Three, moving center fielder Lorenzo Cain over to handle right field and giving fourth outfielder Jarrod Dyson the start in center, with Nori Aoki heading to the bench:

It’s possible Yost could also leave Cain in center and give right field to Dyson, but Cain is considered a better fielder than Dyson (although both are considered good fielders) and AT&T Park’s right field can be tricky to play.
Neither Aoki nor Dyson are hitting well this MLB postseason, but as McCullough notes, Aoki is better suited for a pinch-hitting situation and Dyson, if he’s on the bench, would likely be relegated to a pinch-running or defensive substitution role. The Royals are forced to juggle their lineup around as the Series switches to the National League park, and will likely have to use primary designated hitter Billy Butler in a pinch-hitting role off the bench as well.
