The San Francisco Giants and Kansas City Royals enter Game 3 of the 2014 World Series with things all tied up at one win a piece. The Giants won Game 1 behind a dominant pitching performance from Madison Bumgarner, but the Royals came back and earned the split at home with a decisive win in Game 2. Now the series heads to AT&T Park in San Francisco.

This weekend’s games present an interesting challenge for Ned Yost and the Royals. They will have to attempt to construct an optimal lineup in a National League park without their designated hitter Billy Butler. As Yost ponders his options, he is considering a move that would put his best defense in place from the beginning. He might insert Jarrod Dyson into the starting lineup in center field.

“We’re looking at all of our options, and that’s the reason for it,” Yost said of the possibility, via the Kansas City Star. “Guthrie and Vargy are both fly-ball pitchers in a big yard with some weird angles, so we’re looking at all of our options.”

The Giants and the Royals will each have veteran starting pitchers on the mound for this key game. Jeremy Guthrie will start for the Royals opposite Tim Hudson for the Giants.
