When it comes to mascots you aren’t likely to find many better than Benny the Bull of the Chicago Bulls.
One of the more athletic mascots in professional sports, you’ll often see Benny the Bull entertaining the United Center crowd with acrobatic dunks and flips though occasionally he has a mulligan like all of us.
That happened on Friday night during the Chicago Bulls’ tilt against the Minnesota Timberwolves which featured Benny attempting to run across the court, jump on a trampoline and hammer down the dunk. Simple enough, right?
Did I forget to mention he was blindfolded? What could go wrong?
Everything started out completely normal but soon after beginning his attempt Benny the Bull appeared to get a little wayward in his effort to hit the trampoline. That’s when he collided with a popcorn vendor sending the crunchy snack all over the floor and fans in the surrounding area.
Of course, this was all planned though I have to give that vendor some credit. Dude hung in there and took a pretty nasty blow that most NFL linebackers would be proud of. Perhaps the Chicago Bears should give both the food service man and Benny the Bull a call in effort to improve their faltering defense.
One thing is for certain – you can’t say Benny the Bull isn’t dedicated to his craft.
