When the Oakland Raiders selected DJ Hayden with the 12th overall pick in the 2013 draft, the franchise believed they may have found a future Pro Bowl defensive star.
Such is completely possible, though the talented Hayden hasn’t been able to put his skills on display much given he’s been hampered by multiple injuries during his short career.
A few weeks back DJ Hayden returned to the practice field after suffering an injury during training camp and now he’s set to return to the field. That’s the word from Ian Rapoport who expectes Hayden to see playing time against the Cleveland Browns.
#Raiders plan to activate 2013 first round pick CB DJ Hayden today, I’m told, making him eligible to debut Sunday vs. #Browns

While DJ Hayden only played in 8 games for the Oakland Raiders last season, he certainly made his impact known as he not only made 26 tackles but also deflected two passes and hauled in an interception. Those are solid numbers for any rookie cornerback let alone one who only played for half of a season.
It’s obviously going to take some time for Hayden to get back into game condition as he’s missed the last four months or so with the stress fracture in his foot, though has looked to be in fine shape during practice and has been said to be moving very well.
He’ll add much needed talent to a woeful Oakland Raiders defense though at 0-6, it’s going to take more than just Hayden to improve the season.
It is not known if DJ Hayden will start or be mixed in against the Browns.
