Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton makes an impressive play out of nothing while taunting the Seattle Seahawks.

More from Carolina Panthers

Few gave Cam Newton and his Carolina Panthers much of a chance against the reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks on Sunday afternoon, though so far Carolina is battling punch for punch.

It hasn’t all been pretty though as the Panthers have made a handful of mistakes, one of which was a poor snap that could have turned into a disastrous play. Thankfully Cam Newton’s legs and quick thinking turned what looked to be an ugly situation into a major gain.

With Newton set up in the shotgun formation and a significant amount of yards between he and the first down marker, the Panthers unleaded a bad snap towards their quarterback. That’s a bad situation in a normal circumstance but even worse when the opposition decides to bring the house on a blitz.

Cam Newton, attempting to escape the incoming rush decided to spin out of the pocket and in front of him was nothing but green grass. That was all the speedy quarterback needed as he picked up the first down for the Panthers and seemingly had a little fun doing so at the expense of a trailing Seahawks defender.

I’m not sure if taunting on nothing more than a first down rush is something one would want to do, no matter how impressive the run was. Still, when you’re Cam Newton, you can get away with it.
