Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose expresses frustration with preseason NBA rankings.

It appears a few notable NBA players are allowing preseason rankings to get under their skin as Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls is the most recent talent to express some dismay with a recent poll.

Rose, who is coming off two major surgeries has looked very solid during the preseason though ESPN ranked him as the 28th best player in the NBA which didn’t sit well with the former Memphis product.

A former league MVP, Derrick Rose says he’s heard all about the rankings though isn’t buying into them.

“I hear about the rankings here and there, but I know where I’m at with my game and the league,” Rose said. “I know I’m not a top 30 player, I know I’m much higher. Everybody has their own opinion, and I can’t get mad that their voicing their opinion through a magazine or through a ranking. I can’t get mad at it.”

In addition to Derrick Rose, Los Angeles Lakers icon Kobe Bryant questioned the validity of the ESPN rankings and went as far as to suggest those who came up with the formula were ‘idiots’. Rose obviously wasn’t willing to go that far though it’s clear he wasn’t exactly a fan despite suggesting he couldn’t get mad over the opinion.

Coming off what is essentially two straight missed seasons, it’s understandably difficult to put a gauge on just how good Derrick Rose will be. However through the preseason the former All-Star looks as if a return to form is very possible.

How he’ll hold up through an 82-game regular season remains to be seen but as of right now, it looks like being ranked #28 might be a bit low.
