The Indianapolis Colts are “leaning towards sitting” running back Trent Richardson against the Pittsburgh Steelers during their NFL, Week 8 match up.

More from Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis Colts running back Trent Richardson has been battling a hamstring injury he picked up in Week 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals. That injury forced him out of the game early and he didn’t return, but after the game he downplayed it, calling it a “little tweak.”

“Little tweak, nothing big,” Richardson said, via ESPN. “I was able to still run and move. Coach [Chuck Pagano] told me there’s no reason to back out there.”

Richardson missed practice this week, putting his status for the game in serious doubt though he was listed as questionable. Heading into the game Richardson is still considered a game-time decision, but if he is on your fantasy roster it looks like your best bet is to sit him.

The Indianapolis Star’s Stephen Holder is reporting that the Colts are leaning towards sitting and resting Richardson instead of playing him.

Richardson hasn’t really been a big factor this season, rushing the ball 101 times for 358 yards. With him out that means the carries will fall on the shoulder of Boom Herron and Ahmad Bradshaw, with Bradshaw probably worth considering starting or for your flex spot.
