New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith throws three terrible interceptions against the New England Patriots.

When the New York Jets signed Michael Vick this past offseason, the former Pro Bowl quarterback seemed to be under the impression that he’d be the starter. That wasn’t the case however as the coaching staff continued to tout Geno Smith as the starting signal caller despite sub par numbers during the preseason.

Not wanting to be proven wrong, the Jets have continued to run with Geno Smith as their starter though through seven games the former West Virginia talent has also thrown seven picks and promoted fans to chant Vick’s name.

His contest against the New England Patriots only made his woeful season worse as the second-round pick tossed three first quarter interceptions in rather comical fashion.

Geno Smith doesn’t have what you’d call a strong arm nor does he have an accurate arm. That was shown off in the above three turnovers as not a single one of those passes had much chance of being completed. It’s one thing if you have an elite wide receiver with a size advantage, but even then those passes are a risk. However when you’re throwing those lame ducks up with questionable talent at the wide receiver position, you’re just asking to get yanked from the game.

That’s exactly what happened as Michael Vick, who earlier this season admitted he wasn’t mentally prepared for game action, took over for the benched Geno Smith.

Smith now has 10 interceptions and 6 fumbles through seven-plus games.
