Microsoft is adding another technological feature to Office 365 by allowing all subscribers access to unlimited cloud storage.
Microsoft 365 Subscribers are about to get a nice added benefit dropped in their lap. Those who subscribed to Microsoft’s cloud-based Office platform are about to have their services expanded. OneDrive, the storage service from Microsoft, will now feature unlimited storage at no additional cost.

Like Google’s cloud based storage platform, Google Drive, OneDrive allows for users to store information and access it across multiple devices, as well as encouraging collaboration.
OneDrive now won’t have a limited storage capacity however. Google Drive, Dropbox, and Box all have set limits as to how much storage you can take up, and once hit, will charge you to expand. Microsoft gets a big break as well with Bitcasa, a platform that offered unlimited storage, stopping the feature just about a week ago.
Microsoft will be making the change to OneDrive immediately, and should you want to make sure you’re one of the first getting in on the advanced storage, join the waiting list here.
If you need to sign up for Office 365, plans start at $6.99 per month and will include the Office features as well as the unlimited storage. Until Microsoft rolls out the unlimited storage to all however, you will have 1TB of storage space to work with.
Mashable received a quote from a Microsoft representative stating that over 7 million people subscribe to Office 365.
While the new offering from Microsoft is more than impressive, I just can’t fathom how necessary it is. To be fair, I’m not big on digital media, but needing more than 1TB of storage space is mind blowing to me. I would feel overwhelmed amongst the clutter if I hung onto that much information.
At any rate, for those interested in both Office 365 and the unlimited storage space, make sure to check out the new offerings immediately. Let us know your thoughts.
