For months the Sacramento Kings have been attempting to clear their logjam at power forward. So far they haven’t had any success though that could be changing according to Grantland’s Zach Lowe.

With Carl Landry, Derrick Williams, Reggie Evans and Jason Thompson all looking for playing time the Sacramento Kings have found themselves to be in a bit of a predicament.

None of the players are worthy starters on a solid NBA team though all have value coming off the bench, especially Jason Thompson who is seeing an increase in trade interest.

"They’ll also be active on the trade market, and I’d love to see them either move Jason Thompson or use him as a backup center. In Gay, Derrick Williams, and even Omri Casspi, the Kings have the tools to play small-ball lineups, but that will be a tiny feature of their rotation as long as Malone starts the Cousins-Thompson duo. The rising cap has renewed interest in Thompson as a bench big, according to several sources across the league."

It’s possible that Carl Landry is the best player out of the group though his contract may be a bit of a pain to move. He was also the first player signed under the new ownership group and they appear to have a special place for Landry which seems to leave Jason Thompson as the odd man out as both Williams and Evans are essentially worthless in regards to their trade value.

Jason Thompson has shown an ability to play both power forward and center so he brings versatility along with solid defense and rebounding. That would be welcomed off just about any bench in the NBA.
