While there are many eyes on Derrick Rose’s health, the Chicago Bulls star has looked very good through the preseason and appears to be inching closer and closer to the player we remember.
That doesn’t just include the physical aspect however as Derrick Rose, who suffered what were essentially season ending injuries in consecutive years also needed to return to the game mentally.
He appears ready to do that as he informed local media today that he’s going to do what he can to involve his teammates during the first three quarters of the game but plans to take things over come the fourth quarter.
Rose: "First couple quarters I can get everybody involved. The 4th quarter is my time."

Rose has previously mentioned that he may attempt to stay out of the lane a bit more than in the past in hopes that it will keep him healthier, but his game was built around his ability to penetrate and drive. Given that you have to wonder if Rose will actually go through with such plans and focus more on elbow and perimeter shots given they aren’t his bread and butter.
Regardless, it seems as if Derrick Rose is not only talking the talk but plans to be walking the walk as well.
As stated above, he’s played well during the preseason (some rust was obviously expected) but more importantly looks healthy both from a physical and mental standpoint. If that continues to be the case the Chicago Bulls should end up being one of the elite teams in the NBA this season.
