The Indianapolis Colts and New York Giants are set to face each other on Monday Night Football, and that is a game that wide receiver Hakeem Nicks has had circled since the schedule came out. Nicks played with the Giants for the first five seasons of his NFL career, but is looking to figure things out and turn his career back around and get back to being successful.
Nicks was asked if he had something extra in store when he faced his former team, and he replied with “definitely.”
“When the time comes for me to make plays, I’ll do that,” Nicks said.
So far this season with the Colts, Nicks has yet to find his groove and has been a bit of a disappointment. He has caught 18 passes for 168 yards and two touchdowns, and hasn’t made too much of a difference in any of the games that he has played. Indianapolis is still confident that he will figure things out and begin making a difference.
At just 26 years of age, Nicks still has plenty of time to figure things out and get back on track. He has the talent and potential to become a better player, but simply needs to figure out what role he’s best in. The Colts have had a very high powered offense all year long, and they are continuing to work at getting him more involved whenever they can.
New York doesn’t have a very good pass defense, which could bode well for Nicks to begin turning things around against his former team. The Colts are highly favored to come away with a win, and Nicks will have a chance to make an impact.
