When you purchase season tickets for a professional sports franchise, they try to give you a few additional perks that regular ticket holders don’t receive.

Sometimes it’s a physical good like a jersey, autographed ball or even a framed photo. Other times it’s the ability to shoot hoops with a player or take batting practice. The Portland Trail Blazers decided to change things up this season though by including the names of season ticket holders on their actual basketball court.

While you won’t be able to see the addition on television or even outside of the front row, you’ll at least know your name is on the court.

Spelled out along the sideline is ‘Rip City Oregon’ which is completely constructed with the use of season ticket holders names.

It’s definitely different and a rather unique ‘gift’ on behalf of the Portland Trail Blazers to their most dedicated fans, though most appear to love the idea. It’s a great way to make the fans feel important as you actually get your name on the playing surface as opposed to a brink or piece of concrete outside of the stadium as we’re more accustom to seeing.

This wasn’t the only perk given to fans who purchased season tickets as the Portland Trail Blazers have a reputation for being very involved with their fan base, but it might be one of the coolest.

Have to think it’s only a matter of time until other NBA teams and professional sports teams around the country also begin similar activities.

What they plan to do once a season ticket holder doesn’t renew their package is unknown.
