It’s been fourteen years since Los Angeles Lakers icon Kobe Bryant was hit with two nasty punches from New York Knicks guard Chris Childs, but the internet certainly doesn’t want you to forget the moment.
The situation unraveled during the tilt in Southern California when Childs and Bryant, banging through screens began to exchange words momentarily. Bryant was unhappy with something and quickly got into the face of Childs and moments later decided to give him a forearm shiver.
Chris Childs, completely unfazed by what had just taken place calmly walked towards Kobe Bryant and unleashed two devastating punches that nailed the Black Mamba in the face.
Both teams quickly witnessed what was taking place and attempted to separate the players while Bryant continued to charge at Childs before the two were taken off the floor.
It’s a basketball fight that has lived on in infamy since it occurred and somebody, wanting to pay homage to Childs and the New York Knicks (or perhaps a hater of Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers) decided to edit the Wikipedia page of Childs and suggest he was a trained MMA fighter.
Sadly the edit did not last long and it was removed from the website. Still, that’s a pretty solid troll job and deserves some applause. Even Kobe might get a chuckle out of that.
