Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried brought up Smith’s performance after the game, according to the team’s website.
"Josh Smith, we let him keep shooting. And he ended up with 25, but he still kept shooting. He shot them out of the game."
Smith has now responded to Faried and, yeah, the Pistons big is not happy.
Smith’s anger with Faried is certainly understandable. Not one NBA player would appreciate getting called out like that.
Though, Faried’s comments were accurate. Smith was pretty bad in the final three quarters and it very well could have cost Detroit the game.
However, the Nuggets forward had to have known that such comments were going to make headlines. He probably shouldn’t have them to avoid the mini-controversy that is currently taking place.
Faried finished Wednesday’s game with 22 points and 17 rebounds, while Smith posted 25 points and five boards.
