Milwaukee Brewers Acquire Adam Lind From Toronto Blue Jays
By Josh Hill
The MLB offseason is off to a big start, as the Toronto Blue Jays have traded Adam Lind to the Milwaukee Brewers for Marco Estrada.
Toronto Blue Jays fans want their team to be a contender in 2015, as the AL East is now as wide open as it’s ever been with the Baltimore Orioles looking to be the frontrunner contenders next season. With the New York Yankees rebuilding, the Boston Red Sox taking slower steps than they’d have liked and the Tampa Bay Rays headless at the moment, Toronto wants to make a splash.

They did that on Saturday afternoon by trading starting first baseman Adam Lind to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for pitcher Marco Estrada. Lind has developed into one of the better Blue Jays stars over the years and just recently saw his option for 2015 picked up by Toronto. That’s a contract that will now be dealt with by the Brewers.
It’s a trade that Blue Jays fans will be sad to see happen, but it opens up cap space for Toronto to make some moves on the open market. There is a lot to be desired in the AL East in 2015, and the Blue Jays are going to try their best to do what the Royals, Orioles and Giants did in making the postseason on their own terms.
