Atlanta Falcons fans are watching another season go down the tubes and owner Arthur Blank is expected to make major changes as a result.

When the Atlanta Falcons imploded last year, seemingly out of nowhere, the team thought that it would bounce back after what looked to be a fluke year. It turns out it was more of a growing trend than a fluke as the Falcons are now 2-6 and already on the brink of being out of the playoff hunt.

As a result, owner Arthur Blank is already mulling major changes that would blow up the team and get them back on track to make 2015 a winning season.

According to Jason La Canfora from CBSSports.com, the Atlanta Falcons are expected to part ways with Mike Smith after this season and will try to hire an A-List coach in 2015.

"Coach Mike Smith is not expected to be back next season, according to the source, with his job security now become a regular topic of conversation in Atlanta. Blank is mulling a move for a big-name head coach to help usher his team into the new stadium he is constructing."

This is a move that many thought might happen last year but Smith gained a vote of confidence from his boss. That confidence is gone as the Falcons are sinking fast and the championship window is closing even faster. Speculation may bring names like Jim Harbaugh, Jon Gruden and others into consideration for the Falcons job but for now, the team just needs to get through the season and go from there.
