It has been an up-and-down year for tennis star Caroline Wozniacki.
She had a breakup with the world’s best golfer, Rory McIlroy, that wound up going public and ended their engagement.
Then, she made a grand slam final for the second time in her career but lost to her friend, Serena Williams, 6-3, 6-3 to finish as the runner-up at the U.S. Open.
However, she is ending her year on a good note by completing the New York City Marathon.
Wozniacki finished with an excellent time of three hours and 26 minutes.
"Caroline Wozniacki finishes @nycmarathon in 3 hours and 26 minutes. She was playing a match in Singapore just a week ago. Standing ovation. — SI Tennis (@SI_Tennis) November 2, 2014"
"Caroline Wozniacki’s 3h 26m would qualify her for the Boston Marathon. In retirement, Mauresmo ran 2010 NYC in 3:40, 2012 Paris in 3:16. — SI Tennis (@SI_Tennis) November 2, 2014"
She was greeted by Williams, who also just beat Wozniacki in Singapore and she posted video of the finish.
"Serena Williams greets Caroline Wozniacki at the finish line, gives her a hug &her marathon medal. In case you were unaware, they’re buds. — SI Tennis (@SI_Tennis) November 2, 2014"
This is quite the impressive feat considering she was just playing tennis across the ocean a week ago.
