Pittsburgh Steelers running back LeGarrette Blount said Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs is ‘known to be a dirty player’.

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens played a much more entertaining prime time game this time around than they did in Week 2, but the result was much different for Pittsburgh, who handed Baltimore a 43-23 smackdown. Running back LeGarrette Blount still wasn’t pleased though after a low hit from Terrell Suggs prompted him and the team to call Suggs dirty after the game.

“I don’t know what [Suggs] was doing,” Blount said, per the Baltimore Sun.  “I don’t know what he was thinking. He’s known to be a dirty player. As long as he does that he’s going to continue to have people come after him and do whatever we did to get in his head.”

Steelers offensive tackle Marcus Gilbert concurred. “He should be getting a FedEx in the mail. If he doesn’t, I’ll be very surprised and very disappointed. You don’t play football like that, especially when the play is already over. You don’t go back at a guy’s knees.”

Suggs was flagged on the play and received a lusty chorus of boos from the Heinz Field audience, but he was staunch in his own defense, citing his low hit from behind on Blount as a reasonable attempt to prevent a bigger gain.

“He was running, he was still up and he was moving the pile,” Suggs said. “I assessed the play, and that was the only way I could get him down without him gaining more yards. I wasn’t trying to get him hurt. I was just trying to get the big guy down.”

The Steelers improved to 6-3 with the win, in which quarterback Ben Roethlisberger racked up six touchdown passes for the second straight week. The Ravens fall to 5-4, which is oddly bad enough for last place in the crowded AFC North.
