More from Minnesota Twins

The Minnesota Twins have ended the month long time of speculation. Just moments ago, the club announced via their official Twitter account, that Paul Molitor will become their next manager. The Twins will hold a press conference tomorrow to introduce Molitor as well.

After interviewing more than 10 candidates for the vacant managerial position, the Minnesota Twins have officially announced that Paul Molitor will be the successor to the recently fired, Ron Gardenhire.

The announcement came through the Twins official Twitter feed:

The contract for Molitor is officially a three year deal.

As many had expected to be the case, Molitor was the leading candidate going into the interview process. Following second round interviews with a host of candidates, it had started to leak that the news would become official.

Now with the World Series in the books, and on the verge of free agency opening, the Twins have found their man.

Paul Molitor joined the Twins coaching staff in what many believed was a role that would lead him to taking over for Ron Gardenhire down the road. While the circumstances in which that happened weren’t ideal, the process played out as was expected.

Many around baseball view Molitor as one of the premier minds in the game, and while the Twins may have missed out on Joe Maddon, there is thought that Molitor has the acumen necessary to be regarded among the esteemed managers in the game as well.

For fans looking to tune into the press conference tomorrow, the Twins have announced it will be streamed on their website.

Minnesota will now look to start the turnaround of what has been a dismal run of baseball.
