Baltimore Ravens continue to struggle in passing games with a 43-23 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers

The Ravens were considered one of the most powerful franchises in the NFL at the start of the season, but fall has started to derail the AFC North team.

The Baltimore Ravens were an offensive mess overall, unable to produce a cohesive o-line for the majority of the game. There were stupid penalties being called right and left against the Baltimore squad on both ends of the team; the franchise brought an average of five yards lost for every penalty, and it hurt the team in the long run. They set themselves back as often as Pittsburgh pushed them.

The Ravens had trouble on the defense though not as much as the final score would indicate. They had a bit of an anomaly in the first half with three consecutive sacks, but overall looked relatively lackluster. The team’s biggest downfall came when the team allowed five receivers to line up for Roethlisberger; at times, it seemed as if the Steelers were almost being handed plays.

Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco continued on his trend of being unable to take home a win when rushing under 120 yards; the team was unable to rush even 100 in the game’s four quarters, and it cost them in the long run.

Both teams saw a scoreless third quarter, but picked up the pace in the fourth with Baltimore taking 13 points in the final fifteen minutes and Pittsburgh bringing home 21.

The Steelers advance to a 6-3 record, while the Ravens regress for the second week in a row to a fairly abysmal 5-4. They will play the Tennessee Titans next Sunday in what should be a nice win for the franchise, but two consecutive losses could hurt the franchise’s momentum.
