Andrew Luck Praises Reggie Wayne: ‘The Old Man’s Still Got Some Legs’
Indianapolis Colts’ quarterback Andrew Luck is still a huge fan of his resident franchise wide receiver Reggie Wayne.
One of the best things a young quarterback coming into the NFL can hope for is to already have a franchise wide receiver in place upon arrival. If that receiver is also a strong leader and one of the NFL’s all time greatest, that makes it even better. Well that’s exactly what Indianapolis Colts‘ quarterback Andrew Luck has in wide receiver Reggie Wayne and he’s not looking the gift horse in the dentures.

On Monday Night against the regressive New York Jets….er….I mean Giants, Luck went 25-for-46, 354 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions. The one touchdown that made him truly feel warm and fuzzy inside was the 40 yarder (his game long) to Wayne down the sidelines. It was a great pass, but the touchdown was really made by the ability of Wayne to break free of the defender and sprint his way to the end zone.
“To see Reggie run down the sidelines, the old man’s still got some legs left in him,” Luck told NBC Sports.
The 25-year-old quarterback is enjoying a bounty of riches as he also has the youthful speedster T.Y. Hilton and other weapons to help take the load off of the aging Wayne. With this type of setup, Wayne could play at this level for at least a few more years to come. He shows no signs of slowing down.
