two weeks ago, Buffalo Bills running back C.J. Spiller landed awkwardly on his shoulder and broke his collarbone, putting the rest of his contract year in jeopardy.
C.J. Spiller met with reporters for the first time since the collarbone injury on Monday to talk about how the injury affects his contract and free agency.
“Nah, I’m not worried about that,” Spiller told reporters Monday about his contract. “I think I’ve laid a great foundation down. I think that will take care of itself and so I’m not even worried about that part.”
C.J. Spiller, 27, is in the final year of his contract with Buffalo and may want to seek other options, but his injury will not help him get more offers from other teams.
C.J. Spiller was drafted ninth overall in the 2010 NFL draft out of Clemson by the Buffalo Bills. He has had limited stats due to split carries with other Bills running back Fred Jackson, but had a breakout season in 2012 when he rushed for 1,244 yards and six touchdowns as well as 459 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Spiller has the speed to take over the game and it’ll be interesting to see what kind of offers he gets once the year is done and free agency approaches.
