LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers says three-year old crude comments from Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard directed at James are “no big deal”.

When LeBron James decided to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers and sign with the Miami Heat, fans across the country were less than pleased with his decision.

That apparently included a little known guard at Weber State who went by the name of Damian Lillard.

The Portland Trail Blazers guard unleashed a serious of crude comments directed at James on social media three years ago when he was still in college, many of which came when James and his Miami Heat were playing the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals.

Lillard, understandably upset at himself recently called LeBron James to apologize while King James himself suggested the comments were “no big deal“.

“I didn’t even see the tweets, I don’t really get into social media like that,” James said Tuesday before the Cleveland Cavaliers took on Lillard’s Portland Trail Blazers. “He came to me before [the tweets] even got to me. We hashed it out right there, so no big deal.”

Damian Lillard, who stated he was a fan of James and the Miami Heat suggested he was simply engaging in friendly banter with friends over the games, an explanation that doesn’t really make much sense.

Still the All-Star guard was none too happy with his decision making.

“It was just irresponsible. It’s something that I’m not proud of, but I can also say that I’ve grown up since then. And I was just a young kid doing crazy stuff with my teammates.”

Pretty nice of LeBron James just to essentially sweep the comments under the rug when he really didn’t need to.

Just another instance of social media coming back to haunt a player.
