Golden State Warriors forward Andre Iguodala says there is no rivalry with the Los Angeles Clippers.

More from Golden State Warriors

For much of the past decade (and even before that) both the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers were routinely found at the bottom of the Pacific Division standings. However both franchises have found success over the past few years and have exchanged heated confrontations and dished out verbal warfare between each other.

Still, Warriors swingman Andre Iguodala doesn’t believe the bitterness between the clubs is worthy of a rivalry tag currently.

“It’s not a rivalry,” Iguodala said at the team’s practice facility. “Neither one of these teams has done anything.”

While it may be true that neither team has brought home the Larry O’Brien trophy that probably shouldn’t be a reason to discount the growing feud.

It seems as every time the two teams take the floor they are a hard foul away from a potential brawl and you can’t help but expect fireworks when they’re matched up on the schedule.

Golden State Warriors center Andrew Bogut seems to disagree with his teammate as he understands that when they play the Los Angeles Clippers, things tend to get physical.

“It’s not that I enjoy it,” Bogut stated when asked about the matchup. “If (physicality) happens, it happens. Some games, it happens and I’m happy to battle and wrestle and scrap and claw and fight and do whatever you have to do. And some games it doesn’t happen.”

Rivalry’s shouldn’t require one team to have a recent title under their belt. Simply put, if there are two good teams who constantly find themselves battling against each other, you have yourself a rivalry and this one seems to get more intense by the day.
