The Cleveland Browns will be without start tight end Jordan Cameron for a second straight week on Thursday night.

More from Cleveland Browns

Tight end Jordan Cameron will remain on the sidelines for the Cleveland Browns’ Thursday night showdown against the Cincinnati Bengals due to his third concussion in as many seasons, which he sustained two weeks ago in Oakland.

The news was reported by Mary Kay Cabot from the team’s injury report.

The short week did not favor Cameron and his attempt to return for the divisional matchup. This is tough for the Browns as Cameron had 10 catches for 91 yards and a touchdown in last years matchup against the Bengals. Cameron will most likely be joined by Andrew Hawkins, the Browns’ leading receiver, who did not participate in practice.

Cameron has already missed two games this season with Thursday being his third. This season has been disappointing for the tight end, only accounting for 13 catches and 250 yards with one touchdown in the six games he has played.

Coming off of a 80-catch season the Browns expected much more from the 26-year-old they drafted in the fourth round three years ago. Cameron is in his last year of his contract, and with the amount of games he misses, you have to wonder if the Browns will re-sign him this offseason.

In Cameron’s absence, Jim Dray and Gary Barnidge will need to step up their production after only having three catches last week between the two. This may come easily as the Bengals defense has taken a step back from previous years, allowing the 10th most passing yards per game this season.

A win would put Cleveland in a tie for second in the AFC North with Pittsburgh, but a win for Cincinnati would give them a 3-0 division record to start the year.
