Although Washington Wizards guard John Wall certainly has some warts to his game, there’s no denying the former Kentucky Wildcat product can put up highlight plays on a regular basis.
Tuesday night was no different as Wall and his Wizards took on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
With Washington nursing a eight point lead with over five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Wall decided to drive towards the rim which seemingly sent the New York Knicks’ defense into a spasm.
Wall first blew by point guard Pablo Prigioni which then forced Iman Shumpert to leave his man. He then became airborne while Carmelo Anthony seemed perplexed as to where the pass was going. The end result? A wide open three point shot for Paul Pierce who drained the easy bucket.
It’s pretty impressive when you fake out one defender let alone three on the same play, but we’ve become accustom to John Wall making such plays over the past few years.
Sadly for the Knicks, they couldn’t overcome Wall and his Washington Wizards teammates as they defeated New York by a score of 98-83. The victory pushed the Wizards to 3-1 while the Knicks dropped to a respectable 2-2.
