NBA legend Magic Johnson says the Los Angeles Lakers are playing an exciting brand of basketball despite having the worst record in the league.

Currently sitting at 0-5, the Los Angeles Lakers are in the midst of their worst start in franchise history.

Things don’t look like they’re going to be getting better anytime soon, though franchise legend Magic Johnson seems to believe the Lakers are still a good ticket. In fact, he suggests that his former team is playing what he deems to be “exciting” basketball.

Magic Johnson might have a point if the Lakers were routinely losing games by a couple points on the last possession or two of the game. But that hasn’t been the case as Los Angeles has essentially been blown out in almost every contest this season and made a few games look close thanks to some garbage time buckets.

It’s possible that Johnson could be attempting to suggest the Los Angeles Lakers are playing ‘free’ as in they’re dunking and not completely methodical like a few teams across the league, but exciting probably isn’t the best word to describe what the Los Angeles Lakers are bringing to the table through their first five games of the season.

Of course, Magic Johnson often draws the ire of social media given his relatively beyond obvious opinions though this time it seems people are laughing at him for his homeristic views.

On the plus side, at least Magic Johnson won’t turn on head coach Byron Scott like he did on Mike D’Antoni as Johnson used social media to bash the former Lakers coach.
