Detroit Lions‘ quarterback Matthew Stafford dressed up as Jackie Moon from the movie ‘Semi-Pro’ for a Halloween party last weekend while his team enjoyed their week off on the NFL schedule.
When Halloween falls on the bye week for certain NFL players , that opens up an opportunity for them. They have just a little bit more time to focus on the holiday, throw a party, and maybe even put together a sweet costume that is based on a sports movie.

Detroit Lions’ quarterback Matthew Stafford took full advantage of the timing of his team’s bye week. Coming off a gruesome victory over the Atlanta Falcons in London in week 8, the Lions were able to enjoy a week off in week 9. That was the weekend of Halloween, and so Stafford had a party.
Stafford dressed up as Jackie Moon, he of ‘Semi-Pro’ fame, for the party. It was a good choice and a good costume.
This is a good effort by Stafford, to be sure. And it sounds like a party that required a full effort in terms of costume. Photo booth? Blackjack tables? Matthew Stafford knows how to throw a party, apparently.
