The New York Knicks, after a 2-1 start to the season came face to face with the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night.
Many in the Big Apple were hoping for a victory though they left Madison Square Garden disappointed as John Wall and his Wizards came away with a win. One Wizard who may not have been overjoyed with the victory however was Glen Rice as he took a painful shot to the groin, courtesy of New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith.
With Smith near center court, Rice attempted to front the sharp shooter. Apparently the New York Knicks guard thought Glen Rice was a little too close for comfort as he attempted to clear space by pushing off with his elbow before a drive.
Only problem? It seemed as if JR Smith was a little reckless when he swung his arm and ended up hitting Glen Rice flush in the balls.
While you’d like to believe that JR Smith didn’t mean to give Glen Rice a turkey tap it seemed pretty obvious the Knicks guard dished out the punishment on purpose. Smith’s arm really didn’t need to extend that far into Rice and the fact that he closed his fist before unleashing the nut punch seems to suggest he knew what he was doing.
Still, it was Rice who had the last (and likely painful) laugh thanks to the win.
