Chicago Bulls guard and former NBA MVP Derrick Rose says he’s trying to ignore critics in his return from injury.

Although Derrick Rose had a bit of rust during his stint with USA Basketball this past summer, the Chicago Bulls guard looked relatively healthy.

While there was understandable cautious regarding his return, there was plenty of optimism given how spry he looked. However Derrick Rose has already missed action with some nagging problems and some are beginning to wonder if Derrick Rose will ever be healthy again.

The noise has continued to grow louder by the day which Rose says he’s trying to ignore.

“I can’t pay attention to it,’’ Rose said. “It’s always going to be there. Even if I make it through the season healthy, my first playoff game is going to be like, ‘OK, this is a new journey, is he going to be healthy through the playoffs?’ It’s fine. Even if I play the whole year and I don’t get injured again, next year is going to be the same thing. I can’t get mad at it.”

Despite the issues, Rose’s Chicago Bulls sit at a very respectable 4-1 and look primed to be a powerhouse in the NBA’s Eastern Conference as many anticipated. Still, the chatter around Rose isn’t exactly overly positive at this point though the former MVP says he can’t get mad over it.

“No, no, that’s Chicago, man,’’ Rose said when asked if it hurt more that it’s happening in his hometown. “I’m used to it. Chicago is a hard place to play, I know that. They just want to see good basketball, so they’re just good basketball fans. I can’t get mad at them.”

Hopefully for Derrick Rose, the Chicago Bulls and their fans it’s nothing more than a blip on the radar and everything will come full circle in the upcoming weeks and months.
