If you were wondering whether the Dallas Cowboys attempted to trade for Johnny Manziel when Tony Romo got injured, the answer is no.

On October 27, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo took a knee to the back and was forced to leave the game before later returning against the Washington Redskins in a Monday Night Football game that they ultimately lost.

It was later discovered that Romo suffered two fractures in his back and he missed the team’s next game against the Arizona Cardinals.

But when Romo went down, did the Cowboys ever consider an option other than backup quarterback Brandon Weeden? More importantly, did Jerry Jones try to call the Cleveland Browns to see if Johnny Manziel was available?

We all know that Jerry Jones loves him some Manziel and was interested in selecting him with the Dallas Cowboys’ first-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, but he never reached out about a potential trade when Romo went down with the injury.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network passed along the news Thursday night.

Romo’s injury occured less than 24 hours before the NFL trade deadline, so it would have taken a miracle for the two sides to agree to a deal.

Cowboys fans are likely happy that Jerry was able to control any urges he may have had to finally bring Manziel back to the Lones State.
