New York Jets fans flew a fire John Idzik banner over practice and the Jets’ General Manager has responded. Ah, life as an NFL executive.

New York Jets’ fans are clearly not very happy with general manager John Idzik.
They have already raised over $10,000 in order to buy a billboard urging owner Wood Johnson to fire John Idzik. Then, this week, the Jets had a plane fly over head with a banner that said “Fire Idzik.”
Obviously, they believe Idzik has done a poor job (and in many ways he has) and their 24-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday dropped them to 1-8. They defeated the Oakland Raiders 19-14 in week one to start 1-0 but have dropped eight consecutive contests since that loss.
Idzik landed at the Piedmont Triad International Airport on Thursday morning and the New York Post asked him about about the banner.
“What do you think I think?” said Idzik, clearly miffed by the prank. Then he added a final statement that would have fit during his often rambling press conference a week ago. “We’ll get it straight,” Idzik said, referring to the 1-8 Jets.
Obviously, Idzik isn’t going to be in a good move but he is still trying to get his job. He was actually on a plane because there will reportedly be a collection of over 35 scouts and three general managers to take in Thursday night’s game between the Clemson Tigers and Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Clemson defensive end Vic Beasley is probably the player to watch in this game – he’s been the best player for a Clemson defense that has been excellent outside of a season-opening loss to the Georgia Bulldogs in which they suffered several injuries.
The Jets themselves don’t sound to concerned. In fact, they flew their own toy plane as they practiced inside.
