New York Jets coach Rex Ryan trolls the team by flying a toy plane over practice with a banner attached.

More from New York Jets

On Wednesday afternoon the New York Jets were greeted by a plane flying over their practice facility with a banner than read ‘Fire Idzik’.

That was of course in reference to general manager John Idzik who has been under fire given the New York Jets’ recent woes. Ironically enough, Idzik was on the field along with the coaching staff and Rex Ryan when the plane flew over.

Apparently the team wasn’t too irritated by the actions of some frustrated fan however as the New York Jets decided to have some fun at their own expense.

Practicing indoors on Thursday in preparation for their tilt against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team flew a toy plane around the practice facility with a banner hanging off the back.

So who was behind the prank? None other than Rex Ryan who thought bringing in the flying model airplane would relieve some of the overly tight tension.

Ryan went on to suggest that the original idea was to troll the media and fly the plane near them but the team had second thoughts in case something catastrphic took place. Last thing the New York Jets needed was to have their toy plane hit a member of the media as they were attempting to mock themselves.

Given their luck, they understandably thought better against the idea.

Still, hard not to give props to Rex Ryan for coming up with the troll job. Wonder what John Idzik thought about it?!
