Although Adrian Peterson’s request to be immediately reinstated into the NFL was denied, that doesn’t mean the league is going to take their sweet time in making a judgement on the future of the Minnesota Vikings running back.
According to Mike Garafolo the NFL is already preparing themselves to review Peterson’s case and will rule under the Personal Conduct Policy when the time comes.
NFL has informed Adrian Peterson his case will now be reviewed under the personal conduct policy. Asked him for relevant info on his case.

Garafolo went on to sugget that Adrian Peterson has the right to a hearing if he so inclines before the NFL is to impose any potential suspension.
Peterson has a right to a hearing before discipline is imposed. Until process is complete, he will remain on the commish exempt list.

The biggest thing here appears to be what type of PR hit will the NFL recieve if they let Adrian Peterson back on the field for the Minnesota Vikings this season. Already dealing with massive black eyes from the Ray Rice situation (among others) the NFL needs to be cautious how they approach the case given the sensitive nature of how things went down.
That said many believe the NFL lacks much legal grounds to keep Peterson off the field. Might they rule that Adrian Peterson has already had time served given his time on the commissioner list? Do they extend the suspension further? Will they simply give him a fine?
With a Week 10 bye the hope among Peterson and the Minnesota Vikings is that everything will be resolved before Week 11 and everybody will know which direction to go. For now though it’s in the hands of the NFL.
