Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine believes that it would be a mistake to ignore his teams success and NFL playoff chances.

The Cleveland Browns are fresh off of a big win over the Cincinnati Bengals last night, and head coach Mike Pettine is excited about their playoff chances. He talked to the media about his team and about how it would be foolish to ignore their 6-3 record and the way that they have played all season long.

Brian Hoyer has taken control of the Browns and has lifted them to a level that no one thought was possible heading into the season.

From NFL.com:

"“There’s already a major over-reaction to it. People are starting to talk playoffs and making grandiose plans. Why not us? It’s a mistake to ignore it.”"

There is no question that the Browns have a legitimate chance to make the playoffs, and they have been extremely impressive this year. Cleveland has gone from having a major quarterback controversy in preseason action to considering a long-term extension for Hoyer. They will be getting Josh Gordon back on the field next week, and have established an above average ground attack.

Cleveland made a statement last night against one of the better teams in the AFC North, and they made that statement in a big way. They have the potential to make a run and shock quite a few teams and people, and they’re beginning to play better football as the season moves forward. Pettine has done an excellent job with the team and has gotten everything he can out of them and has given them extreme confidence.

It’s going to be a very exciting final seven games for the Browns, and they are without a doubt talented enough to continue winning into the playoffs. They’ll have a difficult time playing against teams like the Indianapolis Colts, Denver Broncos, and New England Patriots, but they can compete with anyone if they play to their full potential.

Expect to see a lot of media coverage on the Browns over the next few weeks, and we will see what type of team they are. Can they continue succeeding when everyone is watching them and expecting them to fail? They will have their next chance to prove themselves to the NFL against the Houston Texans on November 16th.
