The Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers played a hard fought game last Sunday night, with the Steelers coming away with a 43-23
It was an old-fashioned rivalry game with both teams playing a bit harder than usual, and there were a couple of plays that the NFL had to look at. One of them was a hit from Ravens’ linebacker Terrell Suggs on LeGarrette Blount, that was deemed a dirty hit by many that saw it. The NFL has agreed with that interpretation of the hit and have fined Suggs $8,268 for the hit.

Blount took major offense to the hit, and talked about how many players view Suggs as a dirty player.
“I don’t know what [Suggs] was doing. I don’t know what he was thinking. He’s known to be a dirty player. As long as he does that he’s going to continue to have people come after him and do whatever we did to get in his head.”
Both sides have reason to be upset about the play, but now it is over following the fine. Suggs has been involved in his share of dirty plays throughout his career, which does back up the comments that Blount said. On the other hand, the play did appear to be one that was still moving when Suggs made his decision to make the hit, although it was a cheap shot.
Either way, the play is over and this fine signifies the end of the situation.
