Pablo Sandoval is said to not only be drawing MLB free agent interest from the Giants and Red Sox, but the Chicago White Sox and Toronto Blue Jays as well.

While it’s known the San Francisco Giants want to re-sign Pablo Sandoval, multiple teams are said to have interest in signing the third baseman.

The Boston Red Sox have been the team most linked to Sandoval over the past few weeks though they will apparently have competition (outside of the Giants) as the Boston Globe reports the Chicago White Sox and Toronto Blue Jays are also the most interested in signing Sandoval.

That’s the word from Nick Cafardo who believes more teams will enter the bidding as free agency nears.

“The Red Sox, Giants, Blue Jays, and White Sox appear to have the most interest in Sandoval, but that list is expected to grow.”

Reports have suggested that Pablo Sandoval is seeking a six-year, nine-figure deal and it’s completely within the realm of possibility that he’ll actually get something near that total. It’s also previously been stated that it’s not so much money that is driving Sandoval, but rather years in a deal. Of course when you’re seeking $100 million dollars what’s a few pennies here and there, right?

In a relatively weak free agent market for hitters, there’s no denying that Pablo Sandoval will cash in though you have to wonder if he’s the type of talent you want to invest hefty dollars into. He’s routinely disappointed in the regular season despite historic performances in the playoffs. There are also looming questions regarding the durability of a player who has battled weight issues though that doesn’t seem as if it will devalue his worth very much given the amount of teams showing interest.

Both the Chicago White Sox and Toronto Blue Jays have a hole Pablo Sandoval can fill and the more teams interested, the higher his price will go.
