Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten praises quarterback Tony Romo for his game after missing a week with a major back injury.

No, Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys didn’t defeat the Denver Broncos on Sunday afternoon though that shouldn’t take away from their victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars who had been playing much better football as of late.

While the score remained tight through the first quarter, that’s when Romo and the Dallas Cowboys kicked things into gear and ended up blowing out the Jags with relative ease during the London based game.

Pro Bowl running back DeMarco Murray was his usual impressive self though Tony Romo, fresh off missing a game with a severe back injury sliced and diced the Jacksonville defense en route to a near perfect line.

Tight end Jason Witten wasn’t sure how he did it, though was glad he was around to witness such a performance.

“It’s unbelievable to do that after one week and he doesn’t complain,” Witten said. “He just goes to work. He minimized those distractions and I thought he did a good job coming from that injury and I think just shows it’s one thing to compete and come back from it, it’s another thing to play as well as he did. I think that shows a lot about what he is and how he prepares and just how much toughness he has.”

While Tony Romo has certainly taken a fair amount of criticism in the past for sometimes poor decision making, nobody will ever question the Dallas Cowboys quarterback when it comes to toughness. It was shocking enough to see him on the field in a game the Cowboys probably didn’t need him in, let alone watch him put up a high quality game.
