After Sir Alex Ferguson retired, Manchester United named Everton boss David Moyes as his replacement. Moyes didn’t last out the season before being let go and eventually replaced Louis van Gaal.

Moyes has been out of work ever since then, but is now back managing a football team after Real Sociedad hired him.

Before a decision was made, Real Sociedad President Jokin Aperribay made it clear what type of coach he was looking for.

“The profile of the coach we are looking for is someone who will be deeply involved in all of the working processes at Real Sociedad. It’s not a question of some coaches knowing more than others – some of the candidates on the list are looking to make a big change in their managerial career and others are not. We are carefully studying the four people who we have in mind to get an idea of whether they will be able to adapt to life at Real Sociedad and can understand the club’s philosophy which means full respect for the first team squad and the ecomony of the club – internal aspects which are very important to us. They must understand what Real Sociedad means in Gipuzkoa, and not just understand that but be committed to work hard to maintain our values; they must understand the importance of the educational models we have in place here and be involved in the diverse activities which Real Sociedad take part in. What we want is a coach who we are completely convinced in and who is completely convinced to work with us – a coach who can get us out of this situation as a soon as possible and return the team back to winning ways,” Aperribay explained, via the club’s website.
