Marshawn Lynch’s Seattle Seahawks teammates don’t want him to leave in NFL free agency after the season.

It had been a rough few weeks for Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch as the offensive game plan seemed to stray away from the franchise star.  It appeared more of the same early on Sunday afternoon as Lynch rotated with his backups during the first quarter before eventually being given bell cow carries.

That’s all Lynch needed as he plowed through the New York Giants defense en route to four touchdowns on the day.

Needless to say the praise for Marshawn Lynch was far and wide, including from his teammates who opined for the running back to stay with the Seattle Seahawks organization.

“I never want him to leave,” stated safety Earl Thomas.

“He’s our backbone,” said guard Alvin Bailey. “Couldn’t imagine our offense without him. The way he runs, that’s our attitude, what we feed off.”

Rumors have of course hinted that Marshawn Lynch could be playing his final season with the Seattle Seahawks, though it doesn’t appear as if his teammates are thrilled with such a sentiment.

Of course Seattle’s front office has understandable worries regarding Lynch’s salary demands, age, workload and sometimes questionable attitude which is likely all playing into the idea of not potentially bringing him back. However if Lynch carries the Seahawks on his back for the rest of the season in “Beast Mode” it’s going to be hard not to re-sign the running back despite the questions looming over his head.

We’ve already seen the Seattle front office cut ties with Percy Harvin so they’re not unwilling to rid themselves of a big name, though in fairness to Lynch the wide receiver didn’t hold the same type of value the running back does.
