If you’re playing fantasy basketball and in need of a mid-week boost, check out these top five waiver wire pickups for November 12.

More from Denver Nuggets

The NBA has a pretty full schedule on this Wednesday with nine games on tap.  On paper, it looks like there are mostly one-sided games but there’s bound to be some unexpected drama.  Whether dramatic or not, tonight’s games definitely carry some nice potential for fantasy basketball owners.

The goal of this post is to highlight some of the lesser known players in a good place to contribute for your team tonight. Whether you’re playing daily leagues or a season-long league, these players are starting to emerge as contributors and can be added from the waiver wire or as a value option in daily play. For a benchmark, we’ll only include players who are available in more than half of ESPN standard leagues as we do in all our waiver wire posts to keep things realistic.

Here are the top 5 waiver wire pickups for November 12.:

Evan Fournier. 1. player. 38. Fournier has been a big surprise for Orlando as he’s filled in very nicely for the injured Victor Oladipo. In his last three games he’s scored 24, 19, and 20 points while making at least a pair of three pointers in each of those outings.  He also added three steals last night against Toronto, but usually his main contribution is his efficient scoring and fairly consistent three-pointers.  He’s on top of our waiver wire pickups for November 12 as he and the Magic hit New York to face the injury-depleted backcourt of the Knicks.. 41.6% owned. Orlando Magic

Indiana Pacers. Solomon Hill. 2. player. 100. Hill was a surprise pick in last year’s first round of the NBA draft, and due to the Pacers injury he’s been thrust directly into the spotlight in Indiana.  He dropped a career-high 28 on Saturday against Washington and followed that with a solid 13 points on Monday.  He’s averaging 12 points and almost five rebounds per game in his eight games this season with both numbers trending the right direction so far this month.  He’s playing huge minutes in the Pacers rotation, and if you need points and some decent rebounding numbers, he’s worth a look for tonight.  The difference between him and Fournier is that Fournier has been a little more consistent and he gives you three-pointers while Hill gives you better boards.. 17.4% owned

Hardaway has joined the Knicks starting lineup for the last three games and has contributed solid numbers in points and threes although his other peripheral stats are not anything to get too excited about.  In his three starts, he’s scored 16, 15, and 15 points while making three, three, and two three-pointers.  Whether he starts or is the first body off the bench, for now he’s in a three-guard rotation with Iman Shumpert and J.R. Smith.  Tonight at home against the Magic, Hardaway is in a good place to succeed and is definitely worth a look especially if Fournier has already been claimed.  . 14.4% owned. New York Knicks. Tim Hardaway Jr.. 3. player. 27

Houston Rockets. Isaiah Canaan. 4. player. 169. If you are looking for more peripheral numbers than just pure scoring, check to see if Cannan is going to get the start again for the Rockets in place of the still-hurting Patrick Beverly. Canaan won’t hoist a lot of shots in the Rockets attack, but he does take a few three-pointers and adds assists and steals at a decent enough pace to make him worth a look if he’s going to play big minutes like he has in Beverly’s absence.  If Beverly is active and at full strength, Canaan probably isn’t worth the pickup for tonight. . 0.4% owned

73. The hardest stat to find on the wire for tonight looks like it’s going to be rebounds.  If you’re looking for a big body with board potential, I’d take a look at Mozgov who will take the court at home tonight against the Trail Blazers.  Mozgov’s minutes have been inconsistent this season even though he’s been in the starting lineup.  He did play a big 36 minutes in the first half of this home-and-home in Portland on Sunday and was able to pull in a season-high 16 rebounds.  He added three blocks and seven points in a good matchup for him.  He’ll look to exploit the same advantages down low tonight in Denver and makes the best widely available pickup for tonight’s action.. 3.3% owned. Denver Nuggets. Timofey Mozgov. 5. player
